One of the greatest rugby league players to ever appear for Leeds Rhino’s having led his team to five Championships during his time at the club in a golden era that has been the most successful in the club’s history. In 2011 he saw his team make history as the first to ever win the Championship from outside the top three and once again his inspirational leadership was key to helping the Rhinos defy the odds to win their fifth title. On a personal level he was once again runner up in the Player of the Year awards and reached a significant milestone when he overtook Lewis Jones’ record to become the club’s all time top goal scorer. He also became the leading point and goal scorer in the history of Super League.
Since 2003 he has captained the side in 14 finals, including five Grand Finals and two World Club Challenge victories. In 2005, Kevin became the first Leeds captain ever to lift the World Club Challenge trophy and led his side back to the Powergen Challenge Cup and Grand Final. In 2008, whilst celebrating his testimonial season, Kevin was inspirational scoring seven of his sides points in the 11-4 win over Melbourne Storm that gave the Rhinos their second World Club Championship before scoring his 2000th point for the club in the Grand Final to give the club their first ever back to back Championship. That year he set another club record by scoring in 63 consecutive matches in all games. His finest hour came in 2009 when he added the Harry Sunderland Award to his Player of the Season accolade with a commanding performance against St Helens.Back to Patrons
